On behalf of our staff and students, Welcome to Rose M. Gaffney School Web Site. Rose M. Gaffney School is a PK-8 school located in beautiful Downeast Maine. We currently have approximately 330 students who partake in a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum that includes the "Everyday Mathematics Program," the "Write Traits Writing Program," the "Catch" Physical Education Program," the "Scott Foresman'" reading Program in Grades K-5, as well as a Science and Social Studies Program that is consistent school wide and one that gives our students the background and tools to be successful students and citizens.
We are fortunate to have state of the art technology in our school that all students have the opportunity to partake in. All of our grade 7 & 8 students are outfitted with laptops and our PK-6 students have access to a number of wireless laptops for educational use. Students in grades 2-5 participate in keyboarding with Mary Rhodes.
This is year 5 of our Gifted and Talented Program which enhanced an already thriving enrichment program that allows our kids the opportunity to be exposed to many educational assemblies and programs.
RMG students have a variety of Extra-Curricular opportunities as well as special subjects to enhance their education.
I encourage all parents and community members to visit our school. If you can't visit the school, log onto the web site periodically to see what is happening at our school. We are very proud of our school and encourage all to be involved in the educational process in their communities.
In our school we have a few notable programs that are designed to inspire our children toward academic achievement and beginning career and higher education goal setting. One of these worthwhile programs is the REACH Program . Rose M. Gaffney Elementary School also offers an excellent after school program.
This is a site that was started about ten years ago by Cindy Rossignol who at the time was working at RMG. We have been fortunate to have Cindy continue supporting this site.
